Caltech is not under direct threat from local fires at this time, but gusty winds and smoky air continue to impact the campus. Hundreds of Caltech staff, faculty, and non-resident students have been affected. In consideration of these factors, Caltech's campus will remain closed on Thursday, January 9. The Institute intends to resume operations on Friday, January 10, pending continued assessments of the situation.
