Cassini Retro Posters

Cassini’s 20th century technology has shaped the future of 21st century science. So maybe it’s not surprising artists have found inspiration both the past and the future in creating inspiring artwork to celebrate the mission.
The first Cassini posters from the late 1990s tapped into the rich Roman mythology of Saturn also the bold headlines and visuls from 1950s pulp magazines that celebrated the strange beauty of Saturn. A more recent poster set imagined a future when the moons Enceladus and Titan might become tourist destinations.
The latest set of posters – designed to celebrate the mission’s finale on Sept. 15, 2017 – pay homage to golden eras of rock ‘n’ roll, pop culture artwork and even classic magazine advertising.
