Caltech at ACS San Diego

Caltech in Seattle

This spring, the American Chemical Society (ACS) national conference will bring together chemistry professionals in San Diego to share ideas and the latest in chemistry research and technology. Join the Division of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering (CCE) at a special lunch on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Baja Rick’s Cantina.

We invite CCE faculty, alumni, students, and postdoctoral researchers to gather in San Diego at the ACS conference, hear from Sarah Reisman, the Norman Davidson Leadership Chair of the Division of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, and enjoy lively conversation and lunch as we celebrate 2025 ACS National Award winners:

  • Frances H. Arnold, 2018 Noble Prize in Chemistry recipient and Linus Pauling Professor of Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering and Biochemistry, who will be awarded the Priestley Medal, supported by an endowed fund established by the ACS and the estate of J. Lynn Fordham;
  • Gregory C. Fu, the Norman Chandler Professor of Chemistry, who will receive the Gabor A. Somorjai Award for Creative Research in Catalysis, supported by an endowed fund established by Gabor A. Somorjai and Judith K. Somorjai; and
