With nearly three decades of expertise in product development, process optimization, and manufacturing, especially in antibody-drug conjugates, Dr. Tsai will play a pivotal role in advancing Immunome’s mission of developing targeted cancer therapies. His distinguished career includes leadership roles at Seagen and Pfizer, contributing significantly to the commercialization of innovative biologics.

Cynthia Chai (PhD ’21) was recently selected to receive a 2024 Konishi Neuroethology Research Award from the International Society for Neuroethology. This early career award will provide funding for her postdoctoral research in Gwyneth Card’s (PhD’09) lab at Columbia University’s Zuckerman Mind Brain Behavior Institute. This award is significant to her as a proud alumna of Caltech, where Masakazu (Mark) Konishi and colleagues performed seminal research on auditory localization in barn owls.

Tetsuo Yamane [right], PhD (BS ’56, PhD ’60), former director of the Molecular Biology Department of the Amazon Biotechnology Center and former director of the Science Development Department of the Butantan Institute, has been awarded the Order of the Rising Sun from the Government of Japan for his promotion of academic exchanges between Japan and Brazil. Yamane is 94 years old and still works full time in Manaus, Brazil. The Order of the Rising Sun is the highest civilian honor awarded by the Japanese government.
